Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer both virtual and in-person appointments?
Yes. Although I conduct predominantly virtual therapy sessions, I offer in-person appointments on Thursdays in Montreal, near the Atwater Market. Both in-person and virtual sessions are offered during business hours.
PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM PRESENTLY AVAILABLE FOR VIRTUAL SESSIONS ONLY.
What are your fees?
My fee is $180 for a 50-minute session and 10 minutes of administrative work related to your file.
Will you provide me with a receipt for my insurance?
Yes. Once your payment is received (via e-transfer or credit card), I issue an electronic receipt that you may submit to your insurance after our session.
All insurance plans vary, therefore it is highly encouraged that you determine your coverage before beginning therapy.
How do I know if we are the right fit?
It is not always easy to determine fit prior to actually starting the work of therapy. For this reason, I offer a 15-minute free phone consultation during which you may ask me any questions you may have and get a sense of what it feels like to speak with me. If ever you feel during the course of therapy that the fit is not appropriate, I will be happy to recommend alternative therapists or services based on your needs and preferences.
How frequently do I need to attend therapy sessions?
During our first session, we will discuss your needs and develop an initial plan of action regarding the frequency of sessions. Typically, sessions are scheduled on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. In addition, the length of therapy (short-term or long-term) will depend on whether you are seeking support for a specific situation in your life or wishing to work on longer-standing issues or explore deeper struggles in various areas of your life. While I will provide my professional opinion, the frequency and length of time we work together is ultimately up to you.
Could we have our sessions via phone vs. online or in person?
In my experience, the psychotherapy process benefits greatly when the therapist and the client have face-to-face contact. Having access to non-verbal cues would allow me to understand you better and connect more deeply with you, and it would also contribute to a smoother flow of conversation. For these reasons, I offer exclusively online and in-person sessions.
In which languages do you offer therapy?
I offer therapy in English and Greek.
