Nice to meet you.

My Approach to Therapy

Through my years of graduate training in counselling psychology, continuing education, and clinical work, I have established a solid approach that prioritizes and values the development of trusting, authentic, and collaborative therapeutic relationships with the individuals I work with.

My core aim is to accompany you in your personal journey by creating a safe space to share, unpack, and heal from distressing thoughts, emotions, and difficult lived experiences. I aspire to help you (re)gain a sense of control and feel empowered to make choices and take actions that align with your needs and personal values.

Depending on the needs of the person I am working with, I draw from various intervention modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Process-Experiential therapy.

Education Experience

I obtained my Bachelor’s degree (Honors) in Psychology (2000) from Panteion University of Athens, Greece, and my Master’s (2002) and Ph.D. (2009) in Counselling Psychology from McGill University.

Over the years, I have attended several national and international psychology conferences and presented research studies pertaining to the process of psychotherapy. I have also participated in numerous continuing education seminars, workshops, and retreats that have advanced my knowledge and skills pertaining to my preferred therapeutic modalities, my areas of specialization, the integration of mindfulness practices in psychotherapy, and the support of individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender identities.

Work Experience

Prior to launching my private practice, I worked as a Wellness Consultant - Academic Associate at the WELL Office (2017-2022), a specialized wellness service supporting learners at McGill’s Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences. Specifically, I offered counselling and brief psychotherapy to postgraduate medical trainees (i.e. residents and fellows), created and delivered educational interactive seminars aiming at addressing their unique stressors, facilitated support groups, and spearheaded the innovation of all outreach and wellness programming focusing on burnout prevention and peer support. Lastly, I attended multiple conferences and seminars on physician health, and read numerous publications on the topic. As such, I have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge on the unique stressors faced by doctors and doctors-in-training, whom I aspire to continue supporting in my private practice.

My career as a psychotherapist began at McGill’s Counselling Services (now called “The Wellness Hub”), where I worked for 10 years (2007-2017) offering individual counselling and psychotherapy, educational workshops, and support groups to undergraduate and graduate students.

In the past 15 years, I have also supervised several fellow psychologists and psychotherapists, as well as PhD-level psychotherapists-in-training interning at McGill University’s counselling services. In addition, I am a Lecturer at McGill’s Department of Educational & Counselling Psychology since 2012, where I have instructed and supervised multiple groups of counsellors-in-training as part of their Master’s-level full-year Internship course.

I look forward to meeting you.
